AASA Goes to Chinatown: Join us for a day of adventure to Chinatown Chicago on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Take this as an opportunity to explore the Chinese American Museum, Chinatown Square, authentic cuisine, and shops in Chicago. ATTENTION ALL FRESHMAN: We would like to invite you to participate in Freshman Leadership Day to be held at Glenbard East on November 4th  12:30PM – 5PM  Students are invited to participate on a first come-first served basis, so sign up ASAP! All the participants will go through activities highlighting leadership training led by the Glenbard East Leadership team and the 2023-2024 Senior Leaders.  The students will also attend sessions on negotiation and problem solving skills, acting with courage, and specific methods of leadership. The theme for the 2023-2024 Leadership Program is: Supported by Community – Strengthened by Love at Glenbard East High School.  We strongly believe that participating in this leadership day will have a significant and positive impact on YOU and our school. The cost of the leadership day is $12 per student.  The $12 fee includes training, snacks, and a t-shirt.  Please fill out the form by Tuesday October 31st, as well as cash or check for $12 made out to Glenbard East.  Please feel free to contact either coordinator with any questions. Best Buddies: Join Best Buddies on Monday, October 23rd after-school in Rm. 166 until 3:45pm for a Halloween Party! We will have a costume contest, Halloween themed games, snacks, candy, dancing, and mask making! Come dressed in your best costume for a chance to win a fun prize! Best Buddies: Help our Best Buddies and their families to Trick-or-Treat in the Glenbard East neighborhood on Halloween, 10/31! Boys and Girls Gymnastics: There will not be an open gym this week due to early dismissal. The last open gym will occur on Nov 1st from 2:45 – 4:00 on the third floor in the gymnastics balcony. No experience is necessary but you can’t currently be in a fall sport. Come try it out. Questions contact Mrs. Bugajsky.

The Write Place: Attention seniors:  need help on that college essay? Tutors are available every lunch period at The Write Place in room 251 to support your writing goals. We can help brainstorm topic ideas, develop your writing, and/or proofread your essay.
