A BRIEF HISTORY
Ann Banfield was a Glenbard East health teacher who passed away at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year. To honor her humanitarian spirit, our NHS chapter launched Project Starfish, which challenged students, staff and alumni to perform community service.

Following the success of Project Starfish, Ann’s Closet began as a once-a-year event in which students donated clothing. Our girls volleyball team donated many of the clothes. Originally housed in a conference room, any student or parent could “shop” there for free. It found a permanent space during the 2018-19 school year.
