Daily Announcements for February 5

ANN’S CLOSET REMINDER – Ann’s closet is open this THURSDAY during ALL lunch periods. The closet is open to all Glenbard East students and staff who wish to “shop.” All items are FREE! We welcome everyone to join us to look for new clothes or even to “recycle” your old clothes by donating them. Donation boxes are located by Door 1, in the library, in all FRCs, and the main office. Ann’s closet is open during all lunch periods on the 2 nd and 4 th Thursdays of every month and is located on the 1 st floor under the J stairway.

Attention NEHS! There will be a mandatory member meeting immediately after school in Room 309 on Monday, February 5. 

COMPUTER CLUB:  Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month from 2:45 PM – 4:15 PM in room 209.  See Ms. Shirley for more information. 

Best Buddies: Come celebrate Valentine’s Day with Best Buddies after-school in Rm. 166 on Thursday, February 8th. Dancing, games, treats, drinks, and an art project that will be shared with all Rams on 2/14! 

District 87 Mock Mehndi: Join us for the Asian American Student Association’s Mock Mehndi at Glenbard East’s Cafe on Saturday, February 10 from 6pm-9pm. All Glenbard students are invited to attend the event and celebrate South Asian culture! There will be light refreshments, games, a DJ, and a bride and groom. To purchase tickets online push coin, Tickets can also be purchased at Glenbard East during lunch periods. Early bird pricing is at $15 per ticket!

Girls Track & Field:  Our season is underway! Missed the first few practices? No problem, we are always looking for more athletes to join us. In a winter sport currently? No worries, you will just join us when your season ends. Please register for Girls Track & Field in PowerSchool. We practice after school at 2:50pm in the Fieldhouse. Email [email protected] or come see me in Room 282 if you have any questions! 

Do you play the guitar or want to learn? Join us for Guitar Club, this Friday February 9, 2024 after school, 2:40-3:30 pm in the Orchestra Room. You can use our acoustic and electric guitars or bring your own. We’ve got snacks, music, and fun people. Please contact Mr. Fawkes ([email protected]) with any questions.

Science Olympiad meets Wednesday in room 105 2:45-3:45: Join at any time, come to room 105 to choose your events, meet other club members, and work on your events. We will discuss the regional competition.  For more information contact Mrs. Sabol or Mrs Abrams in the science department.

STRIVE: Do you need a little help with homework?  STRIVE teachers are available in Room 251 before school Monday – Friday starting at 7:00 and after school Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 2:45.  Science STRIVE is in Room 100.

Student Council: Your Student Council wants you to buy a Valentine’s Day Candy Gram!  Deliver a personal message and treat to anyone for only $1.00.  Sales begin Wednesday February 7th – Friday February 9th.  Delivery will take place on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday February 14th.  Send a message to a friend, a teacher, or a special someone!
