Daily Announcements for December 9

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Join the Student Council in celebrating our second annual Winter Wonder Week. You’ll find the dress up days (yes we have a PJ day) and how you can make your own hot chocolate bomb here.

ANN’S CLOSET IS OPEN! Ann’s closet is open every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month during ALL lunch periods. It is open to all Glenbard East students who wish to “shop” for free clothing. We welcome everyone to join us to look for new clothes or even to “recycle” your old clothes by donating them. Donation boxes are located by Door 1, in the library, in all FRCs, and in the main office. Ann’s closet is located under the J stairway on the 1st floor.

Calling the Class of 2025: This Friday is your DONUT PARTY for being the co-winners of Homecoming Week!  Stop by the Cafeteria on Friday morning (12/10) between 7 & 7:30 to get your free donut! Please bring your Student ID as you’ll need to be scanned in.

Science Olympiad: Meet in room 105 at 2:45 to build and practice for our events competition at COD on March 12, 2022.  All are welcome to join the club at any time, come to a meeting and learn all about it. Contact Mrs. Sabol or Mrs Abrams.

All Students:  Do you need assistance with your projects and assignments or help studying for an upcoming test?  STRIVE teachers are here to help you in person before and after school in Room 251, or in Room 100 for Science.  STRIVE is open before school Monday-Friday and after school Tuesday-Thursday.  Come and get the help you need!

Guitar Club returns Friday, December 10 from 2:40 to 3:30 in the Orchestra Room. This is our last meeting of the semester! New and experienced players are welcome, and all equipment is provided. Bring a friend! Contact Mr. Fawkes, [email protected], with questions.

Hot Chocolate? Join us in the Library on Friday, 12/10 at 2:40pm to wind-down from the stress of studying for finals at AASA’s Holiday Event. We’ll be doing some crafts, playing games, and drinking hot chocolate with the best of people! Bring yourself and a friend! Follow us on @gbe_aasa on Instagram for more information. See you there!

Food Drive Part 2 is Saturday December 11th from 9AM – 1PM! We will be collecting food from the neighborhoods we delivered papers and bags to last Saturday and dropping them off at the Lombard Food Pantry! It’s a fun filled day of giving back during this Holiday Season! It is NOT POSSIBLE without YOUR HELP! Bonus: You can get hours for Key Club or NHS! Meet outside the nurses hallway, we will be heading out into the community by 9:15AM! See Ms. Miller or Mrs. Slusher with any questions!

December is Universal Human Rights Month, a time for people in the United States and around the world to join together and stand up for the rights and dignity of all individuals.
