Hello!

Welcome to Glenbard East High School!  We are looking forward to meeting your student on Orientation Day!  Glenbard East participates in a nationally recognized program called Link Crew.  Link Crew is an organization whose sole purpose is to help freshmen feel more comfortable, as well as help them to achieve success in their first year of high school.

The Link Crew program will help to welcome your incoming freshman on a more personal level.  Each incoming freshman will be assigned a responsible older student, our Link Crew Mentors, who will help to show your incoming student what it means to belong to the East community.

The student orientation is designed for students only. We respectfully ask parents and  guardians NOT to attend with their incoming freshman. Grilled hot dogs will be served for lunch (we will have a vegetarian option upon request).

Following is some information to let you know what you and your student can expect on orientation day:

  1. A day or two before orientation, your student will receive a phone call from her or his Link Crew Mentor.  They will personally invite your student to orientation day.  In the event your student does not hear from their Link Mentor, rest assured, your student will still have one on orientation day.
  2. Please make sure your student brings his/her schedule on Orientation Day so that our Link Mentors can help them locate their classrooms.
  3. Your student is encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses or other like items as the day is quite active.
  4. Because the day is active, please make sure that your student wears comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement.

This is a student only function, so we encourage you to let your child attend on her or his own.  Please feel free, however, to attend the PARENT MEETING at Glenbard East on:
