SAT TESTING FOR JUNIORS APRIL 13, 2021

All Juniors will take the SAT in person on Tuesday, April 13. The state has eliminated the essay component of the exam. Juniors who are fully Remote and decide to come into the building to take the SAT will not have to submit a saliva sample. All students must wear a mask, socially distance and complete the electronic health screener upon arriving at East. The makeup day for SAT testing is April 27. Juniors are required to take the SAT to satisfy the graduation requirement unless the student is eligible to take the alternative assessment or otherwise is exempt from testing. Juniors who do not test this year will be required to take the SAT in the Spring of 2022. Click here for more information from the ISBE. If you have questions about this assessment, feel free to contact Joan Witkus, Assistant Principal for Instruction. ([email protected]).

Seniors who did not participate in the SAT in September 2020 have been exempted from this requirement per ISBE as of March 8, 2021. See the message from the state below. Contact Joan Witkus Assistant Principal for Instruction if you have questions. ([email protected])

Diploma Requirement Update for Grade 12 Students:  Public Act 101-643 makes all current 12th-grade students eligible for graduation regardless of whether that student took the SAT in 11th grade. Exemption paperwork for current grade 12 students who do not test is not required to be submitted to ISBE.
